Otley Chevin & Danefield Estate

On Saturday 3rd January it was a clear cold afternoon so I had a 5 mile walk on Otley Chevin and through the Danefield Estate. Pictures taken on the walk are below with headings where appropriate.

The lime tree planted by Queen Elizabeth II.

The Ebor Way passes through the estate.

The main footpath is called "Chippendale Ride" named after the famous cabinet maker who was born in Otley.

The track over the stream and up to the summit ridge.

Close ups of the pine trees.

The trig point on the summit ridge.

Cyclists were out as well.

The bridleway leading to Bramhope.

Brushwood left for the animals to make their dens.

Fallen trees with fungi growing on them.

Off road Mountain Biking.

The new boardwalk over the boggy section of the estate.

Frozen lakes at the far end of the estate.

The new bridge under construction over the lakes.

Distant views down Wharfedale.

Almscliffe Crag in the distance.

The top of Caley Crags.

Dropping down to the crags themselves.

Ice on the rockface.

The lower crags.

A solitary climber "bouldering".
