Visit to the National Mining Museum

After an early lunch we went over to the National Mining Museum at Horbury near Wakefield. It is about 15 years since I was last there and there have been a lot of improvements with new exhibition areas and displays. A very interesting afternoon!

Ingleborough

On Saturday I had been up to Kendal for a Wainwright Society Committee Meeting. On the way back Ingleborough looked stunning in the distance so I had to stop and capture it on the camera.

Flamborough

I was over on the east coast at Bridlington on business during the week so took the opportunity to have lunch at Flamborough where the following photos were taken. When the boys were young, we had several summer holidays in Flamborough where Viv's parents had a static caravan so this visit there brought back many happy memories.

Farnley & Walk by the River Wharfe

After Church today (Sunday 10th January) we went up to Farnley and then for a walk through Wharfemeadows Park where the River Wharfe was frozen over. It is the first time I have seen it like this since 1963!
