Timble Circular

On Sunday 18th May, a number of us from the Otley Methodist 1812 Group met at Timble for a moorland walk for our May meeting.

We went from Timble crossroads up to Ellescar Pike and then over the moors and back through the woods to Timble village before returning to the cars. We had walked approximatley 7 miles on the moor between Wharfedale and the Washburn Valley.

It was a bequtiful afternoon with excellent views.

Scafell Pike and Great End

On 16th May, Derek Cockell and I set off from Seathwaite Farm at 0820 to walk via Sty Head and the Corridor Route to the summit of Scafell Pike which we reached about noon. After a quick lunchbreak we then went across Broad Crag and Ill Crag to Great End and from there down to Esk Hause and down Grains Gill back to Seathwaite.

Our pictures of the day can be seen below.
Further pictures and details of the walk can be found on Derek's website at http://canisfamiliaris.co.uk/lakeswalks/southernfells/scafellpike.htm
