The view from the bedroom of the sheep in the field before departing after breakfast.
About 4 Christmases ago, Chris and Becky, our son and daughter-in-law had bought a tree for us which was located at Donkleywood above Falstone on the approach to Kielder Water. We therefore decided to go and find the plantation which contained our tree on our outward journey.
We went through Falstone and up the road passing the old Thorneyburn Stationmaster's cottage.
We reached the old railway cutting and the bridge going over the old railway.
And here they were, the plantations on either side of the road that were about four years old. Which is our tree we don't know but we took a few pictures of the plantations. It is bound to be on one of these!
We drove to the end of Kielder Water and stopped and had lunch near to Kielder Castle.
We then headed back along Kielder Water where we made various stops to take pictures before crossing over the dam at the end where there is a plaque commemorating the opening of the reservoir nearly 28 years ago.

As you can see, it was in "the back of beyond".
