Northumberland Holiday Day 4 - North Pennines, Alston Moor & High Force

On our final day we travelled back from Kellah via the North Pennines, Alston Moor and down to Middleton in Teesdale before returning home in the afternoon.

Over breakfast, Lesley the farmer's wife who runs the guesthouse informed us that they had been up most of the night as their first lambs had been born. We therefore went to look at these before we left. This was a lovely farmhouse accomodation and full details can be found at http://www.kellah.co.uk/.

About half a mile down the road from the farm the Pennine Way crosses the road and goes over Kellah Beck.

Further down the valley we parked up and had a walk on the North Pennine Trail for half an hour or so,

After passing through Alston we went over the moor road where there was still a considerable amount of snow.

On the descent down to Middletopn in Teesdale we parked up at the Car Park near High Force and walked down to the river where the falls are located. I have never seen them looking this powerful before.
